New London Stair Climb Venue!

New Date: Thursday 17th October 2019

Total Motion Events are pleased to announce our collaboration with 'Young Entrepreneurs in Property' (YEP) to bring you a brand new stair climb event in support of LandAidthe property industry charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK.

Runners will be taking on Chapter Spitalfields, London’s tallest purpose built student accommodation building - 33 floors, 599 steps, just a stone's throw from the City.  Race To The Top at Chapter Spitalfields will see participants climb from the ground floor up to the 33rd floor library and greeted with panoramic views across London’s landmarks including St Pauls, Tower Bridge, The Shard & Canary Wharf accompanied by a celebratory drink and medal.

Participants can enter the event via YEP and commit to raising £100 for LandAid, or alternatively enter directly through Total Motion with no charitable commitment.

How much does it cost to enter?
Charity places are available from £35 / Non charity places are £55, or £44 during early bird period until 1st August 2019.

When is the closing date for entries?
Friday 11th October 2019.

What is the minimum sponsorship requirement?
the minimum charity requirement is £100 if you enter via YEP.  No charity commitment for places bought directly through Total Motion.

What charities can I raise money for?
LandAid is the partner charity for the event.

Is the Stair Climb Chip Timed?
Yes, the event will be professionally chip timed allowing you to view the results online post event. You will receive your chip on a neoprene band to attach to your ankle at registration.

How long will the climb take me?
The average time is around 7-8 minutes, however there is no time limit for the climb.  

What are the current course records for Chapter Spitalfields?

This is the very first climb at the venue, so there are currently no recorded times.

When does registration open on the day?
Registration will be open from 16:00, where you will be given race numbers, timing chips and final instructions for the event.  Please arrive in plenty of time prior to your selected wave start.

What are the health benefits of Stair Climbing?
Stair Climbing is classed as a vigorous physical activity and burns more calories per minute than jogging and can lead to improved CV fitness, a stronger musculoskeletal system, reduced risk of heart disease and promotion of weight loss and muscle tone. More information can be found on our blog.

Is my registration fee refundable?
Your registration fee is only refundable if we cancel the event.

Is the Stair Climb open to everyone?
The child climb options are available for adults over the age of 18.

Will there be medical supervision?
First aiders will be present at the event as well as marshals at regular intervals on the stairs for your safety.

What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring your printed race confirmation.

What do I need to wear?
Running kit will be perfect.

Will there be refreshments?
Yes, refreshments will be available on the day.

Are there changing facilities & showers?
There are toilets and facilities to get changed, but no showers.

Can spectators come along?
Spectators are more than welcome, but sadly cannot wait at the top of the tower.

Can I volunteer?
Events such as these cannot take place without the very kind help of volunteers. If you are coming along to spectate, why not get involved too? We will be offering a free single climb race entry to anyone willing to volunteer. Please contact us if you would like to help.

Is there parking?
There is no parking at the building, public transport is advised, with Liverpool Street being the closest tube.
